The Spice Trader and New Friends (Err.. Few Not So New)

On one of the night, the delegates were brought to this nice BBQ style restaurant in Sheraton called The Spice Trader. We occupied half section of the restaurant. The views that face the blue waters of Pantai Kok was simply stunning. The initial plan was to have a group dinner by the beach (even more romantic !!) but it was changed to The Spice Trader at the very last minute due to bad weather . The foods were plenty and i ate like i have been starved for ages.. he he ...Gotta run on the treadmill when i am back to KL.

I arrived to this place after the sunset ..so i missed the panoramic views captured by some of the other delegates. The dim light and the freshness aroma of that place lifted up my romantic feelings again.. aaaaa.. tantalizing !!! I will feature the food picture in my Sheraton food collection later..

I love meeting new friends and new characters...because i learn something about LIFE from them. On that particular night , we sat on one table ( 5 of us) and chit-chatting like we have known each other for years.. What a Deja-vu ...Interesting topics and some gossips??? He he

Arrrrgh..my nose got an artefarct... in the hands of non-photographers..he he

This is my table... yeah it was my seat that left empty in the place. Just to introduce all the 5 of them who kept me a good company that night. Nice chit-chatting that night guys..i enjoyed it very much. From anti-clock-wise from my seat :

Wesley Lee (black shirt) :

I knew him when he covered HUKM as product specialist for Plavix (Clopidogrel) few years back. He is still a bubbly person and outgoing, similar , nothing much changed about him. Hardly seen him nowadays since he covered IJN a year ago. He loved to have a DSLR in the future .. hey Wes.. join the DSLR club. Thanks for sharing your plan about your BIG decision !! I felt honoured to give my input about the BIG DAY.. Hey .. keep me updated about the progress ya !. He has joined California recently for fitness and exercise.. Good for you dude !! He has his own blog...about FOOD ! Just click on his name here.

Fauzi :

I met Fauzi for the first time in Bangkok in ONTARGET Trial meeting. We are good as shopping partner.. he he ..He is the Head of Medical Department in Kuala Pilah Hospital. Young and vibrant ..that is the best to describe him. He loves food too. A very intelligent guy and i am looking forward to see you again in next available course.. he he

Sherlyn :

She was the ROSE among the torns that night.. he he. She is a very petite lady and thanks for admiring my pictures that much. She managed to capture the sunset view from his mobile camera phone. Awwww... jealous.. he he. She is working with Sanofi and currently covers Malacca Hospital. She is not a typical female drug reps but her demeanour is simply elegant. Hey... contact me whenever you are in KL ..ok ???

Tharma :

The only married person on that table. Highly motivated sales presentative for Sanofi. He had to buy the kitchen apparatus for his wife and he got a saving by RM 100 for buying it in Langkawi as compared to KL.. Wow nice bargain man !! He greeted me everyday and has his own irresistable charm. Hey.. great to know you Tharma. Don;t get too distress while covering HTAR .. he he. That hospital is always fully congested.

Darrick Lim :

He is our tour organiser. I admire his workhaholic attitude. He ventured into various jobs which i thought i could not even cope. From freelance tour agent, fitness model (arrrgh.. he got 8 packs !! I am jealous !!, independant personal trainer, businessman and others.. i wonder he ever has his own leisure time apart from work. work and work... He told us his succeessful stories that night, his passion towards fitness and the wonderful places he had been to while doing the tour job and the obstacles he had to face like death while travelling, losing passport and missing people.

To all of them... great to know you and i am looking forward to meet you guys again for a drink and chit-chatting agenda again.. he he.

VTE In Sheraton Langkawi..

I had attended the Venous Thromboembolism course in Langkawi Island recently from 15 August to 17 August made possible by Sanofi Aventis. The venue of that event was in Sheraton Langkawi Resort which is situated along the beautiful Pantai Kok. The flight to Langkawi took merely 50 minutes and it was a dull experience initially as i went there alone but things changed after i met Fauzi from Kuala Pilah Hospital , yeah ..remember the new specialist friend i had just known from the last Bangkok trip.

The bath tub was connected to main bedroom by a wooden window but since i was completely on my own..i left it opened. The room was very spacious and can accomodate nearly 4 persons or family man of 5 people.

I received 2 spacious beds ( single begs) and i was wondering on how to mess things up in the huge room..

Red and yellow are 2 perfect combination in giving total contrast for the above picture..The painting on the wall added the romantic feelings.

Apparently, the room was too huge that i became bored readily.. and the crunchy Khon Kae peanuts helped to ease a bit of my total boredom.. he he.. anyone tastes it before ? Nice...

I spent an hour everyday in this bath tub without anything or bad thinking in my mind.. Totally rejuvenating...

Al Fatihah... Semoga Tenang Di Sana

Entry ni tanpa gambar... Aku masih lagi kat Langkawi semasa terima missed call dari satu nombor yang tak dikenali..Selalunya aku tak peduli..tetapi detak hati berkata ..REPLY IT...tut tut..rupanya panggilan dari bapa kepada Adik Ridzun, pesakit Acute Lymphoblastic Leukimia sewaktu aku buat posting haematologi dulu.

Berita yang memilukan sekejap hati aku. Adik Ridzun telah pergi buat selamanya-lamanya. Rasanya baru semalam Allahyarham adik Khairi Syafiq , juga pesakit ALL pergi meninggalkan dunia fana ni..Kedua dua pergi sebelum menerima pemindahan sum sum tulang.

Tatkala aku menulis....sebak sungguh meruntun jiwa...Walaupun kami bergelar DOKTOR..tetapi kami insan biasa..punya jiwa..AL-FATIHAH

Duty On Call For Raya 2008

Bulan puasa pun belum datang lagi..ni kan pulak Raya... Terlupa initially ada meeting between all the registrars untuk DEBAT TERBUKA ???? pasal on call sempena Raya tahun ni. Awalnya ??? Mmmm ye lah masing masing nak balik kampung dan buat persiapan sempena Raya. Sebenarnya pagi ni berada dalam meeting Cardiology CME tepat 8 pagi..tiba tiba my colleague ,Ika call supaya attend meeting ni. Isunya seperti biasalah berebut TAK NAK on call. Lumrah..

Ada lah yang bertubi tubi cakap dia dah oncall tahun lepas lah dan tahun sebelumnya (macam la dia ajer yang berkorban besar ...ish ish ) padahal kalau rujuk roster tahun lepas rasanya ada ker nama dia ??? So adalah debat debat kecil .
Raya Eve dan Raya ke 3 jadi pertaruhan. sebab we have 2 non muslim to cover for first and second day of Raya .Tiba tiba pulak kes aku cuti emergency tahun lepas sebab Civic aku kena curi 4 hari sebelum raya tu dan kena belasah sikit tu pun dikira aku menikmati cuti yang panjang..tak pe lah if that counts.... i have no qualms.. The result : I give up with this heaty situation and I 'll be doing the Raya Eve dan Maujad will be doing the 3rd day Raya... That is something good about being a man : they talk less but ready for any responsibility (opsss sorry pedasss sikit but still i am not anti-feminisme yer... ha ha ha)

P/S : Menyanyi lagu Dari Jauh Ku Pohon Maaf ...atau Kepulangan yang di Nanti atau Dendang Perantau laaa aku malam tu... he he... please keep me company dan motivasi.. he he )

Chili's , Mr. Budie's Family and Friends Forever

Everyday we meet somebody new, some friends that you become close to. We gain friends of our similar interests, from our work background and even from blog-hopping and i must admit without friends, there will be a lifeless journey till the end. Is it different from the group of friends you came to know within last few months as compared to your childhood friends that you have known for ages ? The later know you better in term of your life philosophy, your family background, your courage and motivation and your inner senses and most importantly ,own your trust.

On last Sunday , i had spend my time to have a wonderful lunch with my old school buddy, Mr Budie or his name in full ; Budiman Jawi Shuib . He was amazed i could still reminisce all of the old schoolmate name in FULL, yeah .. that includes their father or family name. I value a friendship that much and that is one the ways i remember them including their wonderful and unique characters. Mr Budie has not changed much and he is still a bubbly person and very motivated about getting involved in a society. He is currently one of main person in anakperlis.com. I could still remember the time we became school prefects in those memorable days and managed all the "persatuan". I can't erase that from my mind..

He has his own blog.. dedicated to his precious daughter , Mimin. What a father figure he is NOW. I am glad to know his wife, Zavina on this occasion, who completes him in a way. Sorry for not attending your wedding ceremony the last time. Mimin was a bit shy initially and later she was really in the momentum.. he he. Zavina was inspired with my weight reduction/transformation story i have featured here before... i was flattered.. thanks Zavina.

Now..food galore time... let see what we had yesterday....

Pina Chilada..my opted drink.. it was like pineapple smoothies...don't really fancy this..

Mandalay.. a blend of veggies... Zavina's choice..

Mr Budie chose this delightful lamb shoulder..

I was so hungry that day..so i chose this flame-grilled Ribeye.. well done !! with prawns... yeah once in a blue moon and i ate a lot since i was in a happy mood meeting Mr Budie and family. Ha ha..

We shared this chicken crispers ....yummy

The Chili's ambience surrounding.....

We talked about our school days and old friends whereabout and we did plan for a larger crowd gathering for our fellow Dermarians after the Raya in October. One of my schoolmate , Nazari who works in Bordeaux, France also keen to come back and join the gathering... woow..will definitely be a splendid one.

We cancelled our movie treat as tickets for The Mummy were SOLD OUT and i headed to gym in Menara Axis after that. It was a wonderful reunion and thanks Budi for believing in me and i hope our friendship will be forever .. ha ha.. i can imagine we will be talking about today when we are both 70's , carrying our walking sticks around and agonizing back pain.. he he. To Zavina.. nice meeting you, keep on with your motivation and you should be lucky to have Budiman as your soulmate and to Mimin.. cute, and jangan nakal nakal..

Avillion Port Dickson vs Sheraton Langkawi

Need a break ?? No doubt i just came back from Bangkok 2 weeks ago and yesterday, my consultant rang me up and to my astonishment offered me for a course to attend in either Avillion Port Dickson or Sheraton Langkawi . Good news as i love beach stay very much. Both event scheduled at the same weekends (next weekend) and i have to make a choice between this 2 beautiful places and nice stay.

Pictures below are taken from the website and showed the picturesque Avillion Port Dickson. I have to drive myself there ( with reimbursement later)

Below is the room picture of Sheraton Langkawi Beach which i finally opted to go here. My flight will take off on 15 August 2008 and the topics that will be discussed are related to venous thromboembolism. Wow... nice and i am looking to shop for chocolates, batiks and other souveniers. If time permits, i may drop by home in Kangar for a short while just to meet my parents. I passed the Avillion to my good colleague and good friend, Anuar.

Wow...anyone joining ????He he he...

My Old Nikon Coolpix....Not That Bad

I have never imagined that this pictures came out from my old Nikon Coolpix 7.1 megapixels compact camera.I bought it when i entered the master programme to snap good clinical findings and the nice x-rays and imaging modalities . Since i owned my Nikon DSLR... i left this compact camera aside. Well, if this inhuman things could speak, my old Nikon could have cursed me and felt really jealous with my DLSR..ha ha..just like the Malay proverb says..habis madu sepah dibuang . This pictures were taken today and the flowers were actually the decor at our table from the tiny restaurant located at my condo.

I sat there with Ali, Anuar, and Asri (my good 3 A's colleague). We promised to play squash today but i joined them late coz i need to attend to few emergency cardiology cases .. ya .. it is my work.. i enjoy it anyway. It was a good cardio exercise for them.. ha ha especially to Asri.. opss.. i did not play today because i planned to go straight to the gym after Maghrib prayers..

While chit chatting and having a drink each, i snapped this by using my Nikon Coolpix S8. With the nice amazing photos from Asri, and other bloggers using a compact camera in their entry like Wahdi and Saharil Conteng as my inspiration..i think compact camera not that really BAD. Never Judge something by its size and capabilities....sometimes it can do more than you've expected....mmmmmmm...I think it applies to real life and real people as well..
